Can Your Sins Make You Lose Heaven or Salvation?

You see, about 80% of people who go to churches are not sure if they will go to heaven or not (assumption). Actually, when asked if they are sure, most Christians will tell you that they are not sure. Their being good and trying to remain Christians is the maintenance of the hope that God will accept them especially if they could die following a prayer of repentance.

Many people are there wishing they knew when they are dying so they may get spiritually ready. And since we all know that death is usually abrupt, it is feasible to deduct that almost all of us will die unready. But does this mean we will lose heaven?

Check this; A good Christian all times has just died in car accident a few minutes after he had just quarreled with his lovely wife, the wife he truly loves.  Does God receive him?

We are no exception; we are bound in such fears everyday of our lives. Let us examine the truth.

To answer this question, we have to consider what happened on Easter and the value for it. Simply put, when we sinned or when we sin against God, we deserve death as the fair result of sin. Remember, there are mainly two consequences of sin: Physical problems and death and spiritual problems and death.

In our case, our price which was death was paid and suffered by Jesus so we may become right with God through Him and Him alone. Jesus’ decision to come and die for us was His own and His father but at least not ours. We did not do anything to pay him nor did we even ask Him for help. Simply, he did it out of grace. So we are saved by grace and not our actions. Put clearly, we are saved by our faith in the grace of God.

The bible teaches us that one man sinned and made us sinners too and one man lived righteously and made us righteous too. These two men are Adam and Jesus respectively.

Thus we are made right by focusing on Jesus’ obedience to the father but not our own obedience to the father. And since our obedience to the father cannot bring us salvation, how can our disobedience to the same father make us lose heaven? No way, of course.

It is not our good actions that save us and thus our bad actions can’t take away salvation too. What gives us salvation is that faith in the perfection of Jesus and his grace to die for us and it is the lack of this faith that can make us lose heaven.

But you say; Is there faith without actions? We answered that already. Read the article too.

Many of us have the faith but we are not confident enough to believe that it can save us without doing something more. We end up hustling to work hard so we can achieve some kind of righteousness and this ends up pulling us away from the grace and we lose even more.

So you will not lose heaven because you have died before having the last prayer of repentance, get assured as you serve the Lord. It is God who gives us salvation as a free gift and he keeps us in it.

This has nothing to do with your conduct or actions though it definitely has something to do with you, your faith.

So why does the bible say that faith without actions is dead? It is simply because there is no such good faith without actions. In other words, faith comes first but actions (fruits of faith) ‘automatically’ follow.

If there are no actions, it really means that faith died long time ago but this does not mean that actions come first. No, faith comes first and actions later. By the way, God does not need your good actions at all, He can live without them but you need them for better living among others and with yourself.

If Christ paid the price, then why does your life resemble that one who is paying the price? If he died and was raised so you can have life in abundance, how come we are trying to be show our allegiance through ‘suffering’ and ‘hard’ work If He had called us to suffer for our sins, then why would he go ahead and suffer for us?

The message of the Easter is that we were saved by grace and the price was paid so we enjoy life in fullness. As you celebrate, remember that you are perfectly a candidate for heaven at any time and your actions and daily mistakes won’t tamper with your salvation.

Does this mean we can live and act the way we want since grace is sufficient? Oh no, we have already answered that. When we receive Jesus, we are a new creation. And the new creation walks in light and not darkness. The point we are making here is that you are not able to act good, God is the one who is acting good within or through you, within us all.
