Born in 1989 in Kibaya Village, Bunagana Parish, Muramba Subcounty, Kisoro District (Uganda), Vicent or Nemvicx is a nurse and public health professional, CEO and Co-founder at Miklah Life, a social and environment focused training, innovation, and resource center that offers innovations, training and mentorship of youth in #Innovations and #Entrepreneurship for local challenges, mostly in health, education, entrepreneurship, and governance, for socioeconomic transformation.
He is a writer of blogs and E-books, researcher, and capacity-builder. He also tutors community health and community-based rehabilitation, first aid and emergencies, occupational health and safety, sociology, and pyschology. He is married to Amulen Winfred (since 2014), and blessed with two children, Jairus and Josiah. Vicent is a Christian, and fellowships at Kampala Baptist Church.
His passionate work and initiatives have been awarded and recognized, nationally and internationally, including the Total Startupper of the year 2019 (Uganda & France), Tony Elumelu Foundation 2019 (Nigeria), UNCAP (Germany), Arab Youth Center award for climate-related agri-tech initiatives (AYC; Egypt), NTF IV (Uganda and UK), etc. His motivation is to transform lives of more than 20,000 young people by 2030, empowering & enabling them to start green businesses, navigate hard times and poor backgrounds with hope and triumph just like he was helped by those who came before him.
Vicent is very trained academically, both in social entrepeneurship, nursing, public health, and leadership. And he is also blessed with amazing skills, skills that have been enhanced through practical experience and professional knowledge. For example, below are some of Vicent’s skills:
Ride a motorbike, drive a car (manual and automatic), write great well-researched articles, both academic and creative, design any type of websites with WordPress, video and photo editing, start and run YouTube, blogging, graphics design with Canva, public speaking, teaching and guest-speaking, sing, produce music, do research, email marketing, digital marketing, social media marketing, analyse qualitative data, analyse quantitative data (SPSS only, and basic), write research or project proposal, business plans, research reports, counsel and mentor, do tens of nursing procedures, do CPR and hundreds of first aid maneavers, dig land with a hoe (cultivate), Microsoft Word, Excel (basic), and Powerpoint, design thinking, burn charcoal, and date a woman!
