Challenges of People with Albinism:

Miklah for Albinism is customizing our solutions for PWA and other disabilities. Youth & adolescents in Uganda, and Africa have serious challenges threatening their future. These challenges become more, worse, and life-threatening when it comes to people with disabilities (PWDs), in our case, people with albinism (PWA). Miklah Life is designing and deploying customized practical & sustainable initiatives to address education, health (sexual and reproductive health), entrepreneurship, and governance (leadership and civic engagement) challenges among youth and adolescents with albinism. This program is called ‘Miklah For Albinism’

As you might be aware of, #MiklahLife’s sole mission is empowering youth and adolescents for a powerful and fulfilling future by addressing challenges in four major areas of their socioeconomic transformation. That is, education, health, entrepreneurship, and governance. By customizing our initiatives for those with albinism and other disabilities, we truly ‘LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND’.

WHAT WE DO FOR AND WITH PEOPLE WITH ALBINISM

OUR MOTIVATION: Why ‘Miklah For Albinism’

It’s Personal & Professional!

As sustainability-oriented social enterprise, serving people with disabilities has been at the core of Miklah Life’s work. As a CEO and founder of Miklah, the motivation has been my knowledge and awareness of rights for PWDs, and my passion to execute initiatives that leave no one behind.

However, recently, we have taken a clear and well-defined stand for people with albinism, and the motivation for this is awesomely unusual: yes, I have a child with albinism, and I want a better world for him. This, coupled with my professional knowledge and practice in public health and nursing, education, and social entrepreneurship, greatly motivated me to start ‘Miklah For Albinism‘, a dedicated and standalone program that customizes our initiatives for PWA.

In summary, our work for people with albinism is both personal and professional, and it is the best motivation throughout, even in face of scaring challenges.
