Miklah’s Fully Funded Events for People with Albinism: Apply Now! (5 positions available)
In our efforts to be even more inclusive, #Miklah Life specifically initiated #Miklah for Albinism, a standalone initiative that focuses on customizing Miklah Life‘s programs so they can be relevant and responsive to people with albinism (PWA). In this same spirit, Miklah Life would like to sponsor 5 persons with albinism to 2 different events happening soon. The two events are: 1. WordCamp Entebbe, happening on 10th and 11th March 2023 (Friday & Saturday) in Entebbe at Entebbe Zoo (or UWEC); 2. African Liberty Camp 2023 (happening on 27th-30th April 2023) at SU Camping Site, Kawuku.
DETAILS of the events
1. WordCamp Entebbe.
WordPress is the world’s mostly used content management software, powering more than 40% of the world’s top 10m websites. WordCamps are annual events that bring together all people passionate about technology, especially web design, online business, blogging, and all things digital.
In Uganda, last year’s wordcamp happened in Jinja district. And this year’s event shall happen in Entebbe. Those attending this camp have love for digital revolution, and would love to share, learn, and connect with like-minded youth in this revolution. Tickets are at 40kUGX each.
Miklah Life will sponsor only 2 People with Albinism. Our sponsorship includes the ticket for the camp (and all that goes with it) plus accommodation for 2 nights. Transport to and from Entebbe catered for at only 20k (10k to Entebbe, 10k from Entebbe). If one is from places that require more than that for transport, the rest is on him or her.
2. African Liberty Camp.
Africa is growing, and its sociopolitical sphere. African liberty camp is a place and time when young and enthusiastic youth meet and discuss socioeconomic development in the content of African sociopolitical agenda.
Last year’s liberty camp was organized by Action for Liberty and economic development in partnership with Mikah Life and other organizations.
This year, Miklah Life still has partnered with other organizing members to bring you The African Liberty Camp 2023. In these four days of discussions, fun, socialization, and learning, youth will explore entrepreneurship, innovations, African social and political agenda, and figure out a way of success. Tickets are at 50kUGX per participant. Tickets include meals and where to stay (or camp for the whole period).
Miklah Life is sponsoring 3 people with albinism for this event.
Applicant’s criteria (& INSTRUCTIONS):
1. Choose only one event of interest. We will select only 2 for the Wordcamp event and 3 for the liberty camp.
1. Is a person with albinism
2. Is of age 18 to 35 years.
3. Is available for the duration of the event
4. Transport to and from Entebbe is catered for by 20k UGX. If one requires more than that, he or she covers it her or himself.
