I was born and raised from slummy area with congestion and limited space. Mother was poor and couldn’t at times afford daily meal and some needs.
Mother and I collected bottles for sell but the money got was still very little. Mother and I decided to make portable gardens from the plastic bottles and the polythene dumped so as to grow food in the limited space and also sell the surplus for a living.
We took it on as business and sold our portable gardens to people in slums/urban areas since most are renting and do not have personal land.
We pack the inner to desired thickness making it hard, long lasting, and hence doesn’t easily waste away under rain/sun. Our aim is; reduce hunger within homes, create employment for people, reduce poverty since surplus is sold.
Also, environment conservation reducing pollution, channel blockage and land disfigurement. With Foundation’s money, we shall buy better equipment, employ and pay work force, digitalize our start-up.
