Desperate questions meet desperate answers
Yesterday, I watched TV and saw some pastors in some churches, and oh no, I am not passing judgment, but I did not feel comfortable with their teachings. I have been hearing rumors of false prophets and shepherds; shepherds that the Lord talks of in Ezekiel chapter 34. Yes, whether those I watched were right or wrong is not my duty, the fact remains that there are many false pastors, prophets and shepherds these days even more than ever.
Besides the pastoral/religious world that has been under attack by such false prophets and satanic miracles, the physical health sector of people is also under attack by false doctors (abasawo). I have seen so many local people who did not even go to school singing of local herbs that can heal cancers, sickle cell anemia, broken marriages, infertility and so much more. Yes, we have all heard them in the bus, on streets and around Kampala, I mean Uganda, and we deeply know within our hearts that it is all false or at least not right. But what do we do? We still go to them for we have come to fall for the simple conclusion: Desperate situations deserve desperate answers.
You see, a big percentage of followers of such false prophets and pastors know it very well that they are in the wrong church, following a thief and a murderer but they simply have no option (well, have no better option for there is always an option). Yes, interview separately and friendly people who go to these churches, to the false pastors, these local or herbal doctors, the witches, and so many other unclear places, and you will surprised to find that many people actually know whatever could be going on, but they simply have no options to say no. Yes, people have troubles: incurable diseases, threatening business losses, broken families and relationships beyond repair. Yes, I mean we have internal pain beyond our perception, losses both of loved ones or what we held dear to us, and we have searched for answers from the right places for long and answers seem not to come, or at least what we wanted did not happen. With continuous pain that seem to have no remedy, people end up picking on the wrong road, deciding to follow the bad shepherd, the terrible false pastors and doctors and witches around so they can have at least even one night of sleep. Do they get it?
Yes, they do; a temporary one. I heard this woman’s story; she had had a long fight, call it competition with her fellow for a man. Yes, none of the two women was married to this man, but somehow each wanted to win over his love, most likely his cash. Truly, in my thinking, I do not think they would find their answers, I mean I do not think their desires were met in the right church or the right true God, but the other way maybe. So one day, this troubled woman went to this pastor, yes, the pastor who gives you exactly what you want. No counseling, no corrections, no restrictions, no conditions. Literally, what you ask for is what you get. So the pastor said that the woman would get her man as she wanted, and yesterday she was bragging that now the man sleeps at her house more than he does at other people’s houses.
Achievements! Yes, achievements of our desires. This is happening around Kampala, around the world. It is not that people are blind to see that their pastor is a devil’s agent, or that it is a sin to go for witchcraft but situations, yes, desperate situations make them go for desperate answers.
What happens next? Yes, they are tricked into believing that they have found answers. They are told that what they desire will happen that same way. They are given simple relief, temporary glory, and as we all feel when in temptations, they feel so good. Those who needed husbands get them, those who wanted money harvest a lot, those who wanted riches get them, and those who desired power get it, and they find that one night sleep, that one night lie, that one night comfort, that it is alright. Yes, that is what happens next. And even though so many of them get a bad and terrible ending, still more go for the same way their perishing friends took for desperate people are always around, the true customers to the false teachings.
But I ask, Is that an excuse? Shall God forgive us or them or the false shepherds exploiting such situations? Of course, I cannot judge this well though I think God cannot be happy with this. He had made us to live for Him and find our delight and answer in him by hold
ing onto to the very great and better desires; desires greater than just money, winning over a man, or making more riches, or even healing of diseases, desires that can only be met by him. But as we all know, our sin is we have reduced our desires to weak ones, the ones that our false shepherds, pastors, doctors and witches can temporarily meet and destroy our whole future life. Sorry.

What is the point today and way forward? The points are two :One, there are so many false prophets, pastors and doctors plus witches around the world, and especially in Uganda here in Kampala, and they are on Televisions, on our streets, on our radios and all forms of media, and neither the church nor the government has done much to deal with this. Secondly, people do not go to these witches or false and terrible pastors and doctors because they do not understand that they are making a wrong turn, no, people know they are on the way to hell, but just need some sleep, some temporary relief from their desperate and torturous situations.
And the way forward is this; the true church has more work to do than ever. We have all looked on as false pastors and churches come from nowhere and establish but I am wondering if we shall just let them continue!! We cannot rely on government; we have to rely on our God. We need to pray so much for our people, to handle them with love and care and not condemnations so they may find even that temporary comfort with us as we try to revive their hunger for eternal thirst. Yes, we have got work to do. Instead of spending our days condemning and looking at people with a cruel eye because of the wrong choices they are taking, we need to do more than that; to help them come back to the real source of answers, Jesus Christ.
Lastly, I wanna say congratulations to all the false prophets, pastors and witches around town who are exploiting the masses because they have desperate poverty, diseases, and hard situations. God will deal with you accordingly, keep it up. I wish you could read the whole chapter 34 of Ezekiel and see what the Lord says about false shepherds who have failed to feed His sheep and instead use every means to feed themselves. Get richer, build kangaroos, drive great cars, live well, but as long as it is because you are sacrificing the blood of our innocent and desperate Ugandans to the demons, God will deal with you. He will certainly return to his Throne in Zion and open up strong judgment upon you and all your children. Every soul sacrificed, every Ugandan exploited will be paid for in pain. Yes, and to all Ugandans, Jesus still lives and cares for you no matter what you are going through. The witches and false pastors and all those satanic agents in our country are not giving you solutions but worsening your situations. You may never see it, but it is the reality. It is never too late to return to your God, your true Savior Jesus Christ.
God bless you
