We choose war whenever we decide to launch a business! Here is why I think so!
When you decide to start a business, even if a very small business, just know you have decided to start a war! You are basically tired of peace, comfort, and safety, and you have intentionally decided to embrace violence, discomfort, and war. It is a war! I chose this war when I launched Miklah Life.
You wake up, and everything and everyone is looking at you, as if saying, hey, you won’t pass here. The landlord, the utility bills, tax and other requirements, workers that need salary irrespective of how the business is doing, funders you need to find and also manage, clients that need their work on time and perfect, and, yes, you must do all of that, and still take care of yourself, your family, colleagues, home affairs, and all other nonsense just as any other human being!
This makes every day look like violence, like war, for you surely need to fight through to make it work out (or even not work out). It is a survival.
And yet, mysteriously, this feels so peaceful, re-assuring, and very purposeful. It is like we were meant to work. We do not work to just get money and pay bills, but work seems to be central to our being, woven into every fibre of our being. We work to live. And those who do not work, St. Paul had cautioned, die!
And so, as you plan to venture yourself into the world of innovations and entrepreneurship, I wanna encourage you. This is where you should be. Everything you need to win or lose the war is already in you. And along the winning or losing, I am certain, you will be LIVING. Cheers.
