Research Terms and Conditions are specifically for our research services. Otherwise, read about the general terms for the use of #Miklah website here. At #MiklahLife, we do all kinds of research, including academic research, fieldwork like monitoring and evaluation programs, and climate-health research focusing on the impacts or relationship between public health and the triple planetary crisis. Below are a few of the terms and conditions that guide our work. Thank you.

A. FOR ACADEMIC RESEARCH

  1. Prices are clear and specific. Diploma 600,000, Bachelor’s 700,000, Postgraduate diploma 800,000, and Master’s degree 900,000. Currently, we don’t do PhD research.
  2. Payment are made before the commencement of work, but in installments. 60% is paid before we can begin on the proposal and 40% paid when we are about to do the research report. For example, for the 900k price, 540k is paid and we do the proposal, then 360k paid later when we are to do the report.
  3. The student should come with an already approved topic. At a small fee (50,000), we can also help a student in identifying a relevant topic for their study. Students who later get issues with the topic approval, and have to change topics will have to face extra charges for their research. If we are working on a topic, and the supervisor all of a sudden changes to another one, it clearly means we have wasted our time and resources and need to start a new topic. We will charge the student afresh, this time with only 20% discount.
  4. Work (proposal or report) is always delivered 14-days after the day of payment. Corrections can be worked on within 5 days or less. This is to give you a picture of the duration, but we can do someone’s work in fewer days or even more days depending on the specific challenges or issues with that specific client’s work.
  5. We try our best to be professional. As such, we request our clients to fully participate with us so they understand and own their work. Usually, we can discuss with you every chapter after we have completed it. The goal is to make a student aware of their work for easy defense or any other task related to their work.
  6. We do everything, including corrections. However, the student is responsible for printing of their work and data collection. We design the data collection tools though. We also do not provide translation services. If work is required in a language other than English, we ask the client to seek translation services elsewhere at a cost of their own. In future, we plan to provide these extra services at a fee; we just want our clients to know they aren’t part of the bargain.
  7. We plan to provide other additional services in the near future, including research publication services. We will share details when the right time comes.

B. FOR CLIMATE-HEALTH/ORGANIZATION/FIELDWORK M&E

Research for organizations or in the field can be a little tricky depending on various elements like the study population, the nature of the study, the location, and the resources required to pull it off. In this case, it is really difficult to have a one-for-all price for clients. As such, we encourage our clients to simply contact us and we discuss their needs. Research Publication and Manuscript

At #MiklahResearch, we also help our clients and anyone interested in publishing their research with various research journals across the world. Mostly, clients have their preferrred journals and our work is to organized their manuscript per the requirements of their publisher. Below are the terms and conditions for this specific service.

  1. Organize your manuscript for publication. The charge is 200,000 if our name appears among the first three names in your publication. If you do not want our name to appear anywhere in your manuscript, the charge is 70% of the usual fee for research, which is 900k for a master’s, 800k for a postgraduate diploma, 700k for a bachelor’s, and 600k for a diploma. 70% of that!
  2. Here at Miklah, we are used to DovePress publishing journal from the house of Taylor and Francis Group, one of the world’s best publishing companies based in the United Kingdom. Read more about this company here on Wikipedia. If one wants to use a different publisher, we like to add 100k Uganda Shillings to the initial cost above. Why? Because introducing a new publisher means subjecting us to different steps or requirements of manuscript publishing, which makes our work a little harder and challenging. So if one were to pay 200k and have our name in their manuscript, we now charge 300k Uganda shillings. If the charge was 70% of the research fees, we still add the 100k Uganda shillings.
  3. We reserve the right not to do any refunds even when someone’s work is not published by the publisher for reasons beyond our control. While we try our best to meet the publisher’s needs, we cannot guarantee a 100% sure chance that the manuscript will be accepted and finally published. In the few scenarios this would happen, we will not make any refunds.
  4. The researcher can share with us their appropriate template for the manuscript or we will just use our own, per our publisher’s needs and preferences.

Research Dissemination, Video Abstracts, and Free Research Directory

We have already hinted at the service of video abstracts here at MIKLAH Life and a free research directory. The idea is to freely help in disseminating your findings with an easy-to-grasp short abstract video and brief text abstract, both of which are freely hosted at our platform here at MiklahLife. Below are a few terms and conditions>

  1. You are responsible for everything, including making the video and brief abstract for submission to our free research directory. We could give you guidance, video samples, and all the support you need, but this is not a legal guarantee and you cannot demand for it where or when we are unable to provide it.
  2. You still own your research, and all its materials are copyrighted under your name and not Miklah Life. Our work is to simply share your work across our platforms and with our partners, but without ever pretending to own it. Wherever we share your work, we will give you acknowledgment.
