What is Dabar, the Ugandan-based social platform? Should you join?

Well, few days ago, we ‘seriously’ launched Dabar, the twitter-like microblogging social platform that focuses on inspiration, love, hope, and true sharing in all its endeavors. Just like Twitter or Facebook, post anything, from well-researched thoughts to daily things on your mind, but with inspiration, love, hope, and true sharing as your INTENT. And in just 300 characters only! Dabar, Say It!

Apparently, Dabar has been around since 2019, appearing on our mother site, Miklah, and then disappearing, now and then, here and there, until few days ago when we conclusively decided on its sustainable plan and ‘serious’ launch! And so today, I would love to tell you more about it and call upon you to join us!

What Inspired Dabar?

Since 2019, I pondered about something! I wondered; what if Twitter (and all social media) was more about positive inspiration NOT scandals, Love NOT hate, Hope NOT fear, and genuine sharing NOT hypocrisy? What if social media wasn’t necessarily about looking good, but real?

Well, I appreciated the diversity or the mix brought in by these social platforms. Diversity is good. Humans are diverse! However, something IMPORTANT was missing; A place for RECUPERATION or recovery

I acknowledged that Christians and everyone else who loves inspiration, and finds pleasure in tracing even a small grain of hope and love amidst crazy and chaotic situations would NEED a space, a dedicated social platform for recovery, re-fill, learning, sharing, and getting energized before engaging with the messy mix on the other social platforms!

And DABAR was born! Dabar is your place for recuperation!

What is Dabar?

‘Dabar’ is a Hebrew word that means ‘Word’, ‘Speak’, ‘Utterance’, ‘Talk’. On Dabar, you ‘Say It’ the way you feel it, but in just 300 characters! In other words, Dabar is a microblogging platform like Twitter, but for Inspiration NOT slander, Love NOT Hatred, Hope NOT Fear, and true sharing NOT Hypocrisy.

Dabar is that separate dedicated space for Christians and all those who want to inspire, energize, encourage, and build themselves STRONG before they can mix up with the diversity on the other social platforms. It’s a place where you build true social connections, true friendships!

Dabar is where you design your real social life before you get confused and lost in the other mix. On Dabar, you create your identity before it can be swallowed up by the diversity in this world! Remember, you can’t even appreciate diversity until you know ‘WHO YOU ARE’ in that diverse!
