Anything Can Happen with Each one of Us! Be humble & grateful!
Few days ago, to be exact on 24th September 2020, I wrote on Facebook that ‘we are all capable of doing any evil’, including murder, unfaithfulness, theft, witchcraft, and all sorts of unspeakable evils. In other words, anything can happen! Once you realize this truth, you simply thank God that you aren’t the one doing one of the above right now!
And if you are doing one of the despicable evils, know that you certainly aren’t the first or even the worst. For this, God can save you if He wants to just the same way He saved so many others. So, have hope, even in that dark valley!
In the same way, life has taught me that anything can happen with us. It doesn’t matter the stage of life, the family of your origin, the gender or sex, how strong our faith is or has been, or whatever; anything (including extremely good or bad) can happen with you or your family. And you can’t do anything about it!
You see, sometimes, I would see couples with weird behaviors and wonder how they ever became like that. I would see unspeakable things happen in people’s lives and families at a distant, never expecting such among people that I know. At some level in life, life to you is in black and white, period.
With this attitude to life and narrow aspect, it wouldn’t be hard to pass a comment, a mean comment! I would look at ‘stubborn’ children and blame the parents. I would look at failed couples, and blame them. I would look at sinners, and wonder how on earth they can’t see their wrongs!
I would look at a failed student, and blame his or her brains or put it on her behaviors. I always found it ‘impossible’ to have such failures.
Of course, most times, these blames can be true. However, don’t forget the famous phrase, ‘don’t judge someone until you have your feet in his shoes’.
Additionally, we aren’t talking about finding out faults with humans and trying to minimize or correct them. We are talking about doing that WITHOUT sympathy and empathy and with a heart that is neither humble nor grateful, not knowing or acknowledging that we could have been the ones!
Most people, especially women (and men), do pass negative comments regarding others. We all do.
How we learn that anything can happen!
But once one grows and God graciously blesses him or her with various experiences, with people, life, and issues, talking and making mean comments reduce as we embrace each other and prayerfully consider the misfortunes of others. This is a very important lesson in life.
So as you experience your Sunday today, I kindly ask you to be sympathetic and empathetic with people, with all situations, including weird ones that you never imagined happening with you or others. When you meet weird people, experience weird and evil issues in life, be calm and humble as you fight through.
When things turn out well, be grateful and humble. When things turn out bad, just know you aren’t alone. And just move on. It is unpredictable life and we have no control over anything!
READ THIS TOO: Life isn’t about us, not even the good choices we make!
In Christian faith, we are encouraged to be grateful and thankful to God. Why? Because all that happens to us, good or bad, isn’t about us but God! Besides, we wouldn’t add an inch to our lives by worrying!
Additionally, God promises the faithful that there will be a time when life and all that happens in it are beautiful, coherent, and pleasant, forever. Until then, expect and live anything, including the worst possible experiences of your life. We are in the world, and nobody promised us great things here!
God bless you. And God bless the people you care about.
Nice Sunday.
Talk soon.
