The lesson i learned via hard way: For every generation, there will always be victims or losers, just try to be on the other side

Your complaints won’t solve the problems of the oppressed, that time and energy must be spent in finding means of getting out the marginalized group. Yeah, you may complain a little and wisely to get a breathing space, but always use that breathing space to get to something much more and defensive from oppressors otherwise your relief won’t be long to be enjoyed.

In his words, i found knowledge and though i was not able to control my total anger and ended up spilling some stupid complaints, the worst that could have resulted in my school drop-out was saved. And here i am somehow no longer under those compressions and pressures and eeh i am a victor and no more a victim. This is not easy to tell to someone being oppressed, but is the saving truth.

In 2012 while doing a practical nursing exam on ward, Sr. Beriah, the ward in-charge said something i will never forget. We had waited for our examiners and they had delayed taking tea while we staved on ward and when they finally came, we were mad enough to vomit anything out. Fortunately, Beriah understood the anger inside us and she said, “I know you are angry with us but you would better control your anger, bring good attitude and pass the examination so that you are stressed no more. Otherwise, you may keep losing and i will keep winning”. I immediately swallowed my pride and my friends too, we all entered with smiling faces and we won the race. I and all my friends passed the exam.

In 2004 while still in primary school, my head teacher, Mr. Munyancongore Chris said that there was no development without destruction. He was explaining the hard conditions we were facing at the time when he was brought in as the new headmaster. He said that people lose land, houses and property when a new road is being constructed but thousands of people still benefit from the road.

All the above mentors will forever remain at my heart and i will always try to follow their advice. Yeah, at times, complaints are unavoidable but we just have to measure the limits so we do not lose even the little we have. And if a single breathing space or freedom is granted, use it to rise higher where you won’t need people’s sympathy anymore. There will always be the victims, make sure you are not among and if you are among just try to get out. That is the lesson i have learned via hard way.
