Climate Change: The Problem!

Climate change is hitting Uganda and the world with intensifying force. In Uganda, over 70% of people rely on rain-fed farming, yet 76% report worsening heat waves and 71% face severe droughts, cutting crop yields and livelihoods. The World Bank warns that without urgent action, Uganda could lose up to 3.1% of its GDP by 2050 and push over 600,000 people into poverty (see more here). Globally, temperatures have already risen by about 1.1°C, placing 3.5 billion people in highly vulnerable regions (IPCC report). The crisis is no longer environmental—it’s economic, social, and human, literally taking lives. What are we doing about it?
