Week Summary: What We Had for You This Week!
How are you my friend, how has been your week?
Well, this your friend, Vicent @ Miklah. Today is Friday and here is what we had for you this ending week:
1. Since their inception in 2015, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the politics of the day and, apparently, businesses addressing SDGs have the upper hand, whether in terms of funding, support from public and clients and tax exemptions and much more. Good for me and for you, last week but one, I was honored with an invitation to one of these kinds of businesses; sustainability reporting for Uganda, championed by Uganda Manufacturers Association in partnership with other big players. Under this scheme, all businesses are requested to report on SDGs and those complying shall reap thousands of benefits. This surely could be an opportunity for you, whether you have business or not. More about this here.
NB: Through our program, Sacred Entrepreneurship, we can enable you start a sustainable business addressing any of the 17 UN Goals or incorporate SDGs in your company and position yourself for all the attached benefits.
2. For your spiritual growth and health, we exactly explored two issues; how to forgive and forget and the exact treasure in finding God (don’t feel offended if you don’t believe in God or Jesus). You see, our lives are in constant and endless search for true pleasure, joy and happiness that cannot be threatened by climate change, diseases, wars, hate and all troubles of our world. And, surely, the story of a man who ‘gladly’ sold all he had as to be able to buy a garden with treasure inspired us to stop at nothing until we find God. Explore this here
Concerning forgiving our enemies and ourselves, we clearly found out that it is impossible to forget their or our wrongs but, with God’s help, we can surely remember it all with compassion and hold them or ourselves accountable no more. God forgives us and remembers our sin no more because He no longer judges us or have grudges against us. But surely, He remembers it all. See how to find your peace again in this piece.
3. For your health and, maybe, that of your children, we explored immunization! In Uganda here, we have been doing mass immunization for measles, rubella and polio, this time not using our common single vaccines but a new measles-rubella combined vaccine. Apparently, the public had some protests and some parents refused to immunize their children. Sparked by thousands of controversies around vaccines since 1990s, for example, the Wakefield MMR and autism controversy of 1998, the public showed skeptics concerning the safety of the new vaccine in Ugandan context. We took it upon our hearts to do the exploration for you, for us all. Examine the evidence with us and build your confidence in immunization again.
4. And lastly, we were greeted with exciting news for women this week; the panty female condom. Since the invention of condoms for women in 1980s, the idea and goal has been one; give power to women in matters of sex and contraception. Unfortunately, for some reason (many reasons exist and are confusing), women across the world have not taken up this power of ‘female condom’ compared to men with their men condoms. And this is even worse for developing countries like Uganda. In Uganda, very few women use female condoms!
However, with the introduction of the new classic sexy lingerie G-String like condom, all of this might change in a swift. The new panty condom is classic, sexy and appealing to both women and men and is likely to change the whole perception and utilization of female condoms in Uganda. According to the authorities (the ones bringing us the condom), the sexy condom shall hit our shelves in six-months time from now. For now, the acceptability study is taking place. At Miklah, we did a detailed review of this panty female condom and, we hope, it shall excite your weekend.
And that was it!
Have a beautiful an inspirational week. Take care of yourself and those you love. God bless you.
