During our training and mentorship programs for entrepreneurs, we have consistently noticed one challenge that blocks the dreams of many young innovators; the shortage of #StartupCapital.

To provide our sustainability entrepreneurs with startup funding, we launched #MiklahFundingStrategy, which trains, guides, and mentors entrepreneurs to identify funding opportunities, apply for them, and probably WIN some for their eco-friendly initiatives or startups.

NB: We have applied to various stakeholders, including the Government to have ‘direct funding, from #MiklahLife directly to you, the entrepreneur’. However, as we wait for the move or miracle, we can still fund you by enabling YOU to win funding from other funders. Isn’t this awesome? We aren’t targeting one funder, but hundreds of them. You surely could get funded!

We unofficially started experimenting with this thought with a few of our mentees. Later, a few of these, for example, Diana Birungi of Music & Arts Creatives, Nabunya Naimat, Stella Racheal, and others won some funding (see here). This was encouraging.

However, we decided to be intentional with the program. Every 4 months, we call for applications and incubate between 50 to 100 entrepreneurs who are fighting against the triple planetary crisis in their various initiatives.

Our JOB OR DUTY: Our job as #MiklahLife is:

1. To identify, organize, and share with you the available funding opportunities that are relevant to your business.
2. To assist you in organizing your business or business idea into a fundable project (basically, make your business sustainability-oriented and with a viable business model)
3. To guide and support you as you apply for various opportunities; brainstorming and discussing the best possible ways to answer application questions and processes. (We don’t write or apply for you; we provide all the guidance, including templates or even one-on-one support).
4. Keep up with you throughout all stages of competitions, including guiding you in addressing specific issues like, making video pitches, financial projections, pitch PowerPoint documents, business model and business model canvas, and much more.

NB: Our meetings and one-on-one guidance can happen physically at our office or online (using various online tools, for example, WhatsApp, Zoom, Google Meet, Twitter Space, etc), and we can as well find you where you are at your cost.

3. If your business wins FUNDING with our guidance or support, you will pay us only 10% of the funding you have scored, and we get no single share in your business. For example, if you won funding of UGX 10m, 1m is for us here at #Miklah. No strings attached.
4. You will be added to our general WhatsApp group and then a special group for paid-only users, and your email will be added to our general mailing list. And the job will begin. That is all.
