Today is our 2020 Marriage Anniversary, and Here is our Message to you!

Today is a big day; I and Winnie are celebrating our MARRIAGE ANNIVERSARY, 6 years together, and, as long as God wills, still rolling!

In the morning, after the congratulatory hug, I and Winnie realized that we committed to each other when we basically had nothing, but ourselves. Waiting to have it altogether is one big reason many people delay getting married; men want to first get property, build house, have high paying jobs, and then marry! On the other hand, women want to finish school, find that job or do the business they want, fetch a lot of money, build their mom’s house, and the like.

However, I and Winnie didn’t wait to have it altogether. We just started from ourselves and built upwards. We didn’t have jobs, no house, no land, no car, not all those things people call success. WE HAD LOVE, not of feelings only but of commitment too. We decided upfront that we will face the world together. And we did! God has been so good to us.

Of course, there are unique challenges associated with this early choice, but, in my own analysis, they are less compared to waiting until you have it altogether. In summary, we seem to think, people who commit to each other in early stages of one’s success are likely to be real, driven by true love, and commitment. On the other hand, finding true love in the world of the ‘successes’ is likely to be filled with manipulators, exploiters, people who won’t hold on in times of trouble!

Of course, these are just thoughts! They are not always true.

Our advice to the many young people around; get your thoughts together, find someone who you love and loves you irrespective of your ‘material’ success, and commit to each other; marry each other. Do not let the reason of first ‘having it altogether’ delay the true pleasure in true love and commitment. If you are lucky and you managed to grab ‘the earth’ while still young, great! But if there is still a long way to go, why not walk the journey with someone you love, someone equally committed to ‘joyful suffering’?

Anyway, that is all we have for you. As for us, we are grateful to God, and to so many of you, friends. Of everything that we are and have now, nothing seemed possible from the start. We are a true product of FAITH, ‘reckless’ hope for God’s prepared future.

May God keep us together, happy, and faithful to Him and ourselves as long as He wills. And may God bless you all, and, for the unmarried, guide you on the path of ‘single and searching’. For the married, may He keep you together for a long happy marriage. May He bless our JAIRUS NSHIMIYE, all that are coming, and your children too. All our friends, thanks for being part of our lives. God bless you all. Thank you.

Happy Marriage Anniversary to Winnie and Vicent
