Climate Funding or Climate Financing is currently on everyone’s lips; people are wondering where the funds to support climate health adaptation, mitigation, and resilience innovations shall ever come from! Well, at #MiklahLife, we believe that climate-funding opportunities are many and everywhere. The question is, are you ready to give it what it takes?

A few years ago, we started Sacred Entrepreneurship, a mentorship and showcase program for innovators in the climate and health space. As of today, we have served more than 375 entrepreneurs and connected six initiatives to funding. Later on, we launched #MiklahFundingStrategy to formalize our efforts in supporting these innovators towards identifying and applying for various funding opportunities.

16 Climate Funding Opportunities for November & December 2024

1.Do you have any community development projects in mind and a US experience would make it better? Apply for a fully-funded-to-the US program called Community Solutions Program. It’s a year-long leadership program for established community leaders focused on democracy, human rights, environment, peace, and gender issues. It includes a four-month U.S. practicum, leadership coaching, graduate-level training, and a six-month community project implemented in fellows’ home countries. Details & Apply here. Deadline is Nov 13th 2024.

2. Are you a Mandela Washington Fellowship Alumni? If yes, try the catalyst grant now. About 20k USD is up for grabs (Deadline: 18th Nov 2024). Wait! What if you aren’t an alumni? Just apply for this same prize directly with D-prize. All you need is an innovative plan to deliver an existing solution. It could be taking immunization to your village, lol! 3. Mountaintop Fellowship is another US-fully funded program that is interesting. These guys started off last year, and I think they are receiving applications for their second cohort. The program has 3 types of fellowship; you will choose the one that fits you. Of course, you must be having a compelling project you want to implement during the program. 4. Do you have an agriculture-focused innovation that is likely to transform the lives of farmers or communities in Uganda or Africa? Apply for this Mastercard Agribusiness Challenge Fund. Support from the Fund includes grants ranging from US$ 500,000 to US$ 2,500,000. Do you want money or not? Miklah will try this with our ShareLand Project, why not? The 1st and 2nd innovations harvest is over. You are applying for the third, and the deadline is 22nd November 2024.

5. This is for the young people in the house, not more than 18 years old. Do you have any innovative ideas to solve climate change? Record yourself in a video while explaining one such idea and stand a chance of winning 10k USD. Ready? Visit SlingShot Challenge here and explore the possibility of being the next kid on the block! The deadline is February 7th, 2025. You have time, don’t you?

6. Are you a climate-focused activist and or researcher? This is for you! The program is called Arctic Base Camp. If selected, you are likely to be funded for the World Economic Forum in Davos. There are two programs: Youth Ambassador and Climate Science Ambassador. Which one is your favorite? See details and apply here. Deadline is 13th Nov. 2024.

7. Do you have an amazing climate-solving innovation that could change the lives of Africans? Apply for the African Climate Innovation Challenge and win about 10k USD to implement your innovation. Ensure you have at least 2 team members, have MVP of your product or service, & ready. See details and apply here. The deadline is 8th November 2024.

8. Have you ever heard of One Young World? OYW 2025 will happen in Munich, Germany, and NewNow wants to fully sponsor your participation if you can prove that you have an amazing community-changing idea. Your age should be 30 & below. See details and apply here. Deadline is 1st Dec. 2024.

9. You are 35 of age or below and have an amazing evidence-based, well-researched, policy idea on how to achieve sustainability without compromising our economic prosperity, right? Well, try Cap and Share Policy Challenge. If your proposal stands out, you win yourself a fully-funded participation in COP30, which will be in Brazil. See details and apply now. Deadline is 1st December 2024.

10. Are you a young professional with a passion in leadership and solving big global challenges? Are you a postgraduate or PhD student or a young professional in any field? Apply for Global Leadership Challenge 2024. You must be 30 years and below. Well, you will get a lot, including a fully-funded leadership trip to Switzerland for St. Gallen Symposium. 11. Have you ever heard of the Anzisha Prize? It is one of the most famous funding competitions for young entrepreneurs (15-22 years) in Africa. The 2025 competition is open and they will fund your project with up to 50k USD. Tip: If you aren’t as young as 22, bring a 22-year old on your team. Win with them. See details & apply here. 12. Are you a young professional with a passion in leadership and solving big global challenges? Are you a postgraduate or PhD student or a young professional in any field? 14. Are you innovative enough to tackle energy efficiency across various industries including manufacturing, transportation, and data centers? Come on, think hard! If you figure out any idea, submit it for the innovative challenge for green digital. You never know how creative you are until you try. See the list of areas of concern and make your name famous. Deadline is 26th November 2024.

15. Have you ever heard of eco-anxiety or climate-related mental illnesses? Well, with the ongoing climate change crisis, evidence suggests that we, mostly children, are worried about climate change and its impacts. Do you have an idea of how we could address this growing mental issue among children and adolescents? Try From Eco-Anxiety to Eco Action & Empowerment competition. The deadline is 3rd March 2025.

16. Are you innovative enough to tackle energy efficiency across various industries including manufacturing, transportation, and data centers? Come on, think hard!
