LOVE IS NEVER BLIND, IT CONSCIOUSLY JUST CLOSES ITS EYES: “You come to love not only by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly”.

It is a common song to most people, young and old that love is blind.  If love is to last forever, it needs not to be blind because it will die as soon as the eyes get okay. We love people because we know them; they are God’s people in his Image. To maintain love for someone, you try to fix yourself onto the positive side of his or her life and regard mistakes as minor reasons. God loves us, but He knows us well. He understands our mistakes and achievements, but maintains His love for us all. We need to understand those we love and be prepared to meet the impacts of their way of living if we are to have a long lasting true love.

It’s not a surprise that some love others to pull them away from destructive ways they live, and doing it needs an open study and understanding of the person you love. God understood our sinful life and loved us by sending his son to die for us. “For God loved the world so much that He gave His only son, So that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life”(John 3:16).  Our love needs not to be blind, but should know and understand one another and just close eyes to remain active.
In his book, Apples of gold, Jo petty wrote, “Faults are thick when love is thin and that I married her because we have so many faults in common”. It is only through open understanding of one another that you know your friend’s faults and these indeed become very tiny when love flourishes. David had great love for his son Absalom, but he knew all his trespasses (2 Samuel 18:5).This is clear about true love; it knows the errors and weaknesses involved with the person it cherishes but ignores them for good (1 John 4:8). Closing our eyes does not mean blindness, but it is power to ignore a well-understood failure which offers courage for more trials till we achieve all we want in love. This means that our influence is important to change those we love.
If our love is blind, it becomes of less value since love is valued if it can help those in chains to be free. Because we do not comprehend the real conflicts of the people we love, then, we cannot help them to win them. This undermines love and thus betrays God’s commandment. Jesus in his life understood most of the people’s welfare and this could give him the best way to approach them. In the story of a Good Samaritan, Jesus knew it well that Jews never shared with Samaritans, but he went ahead and asked for water to drink. Because he loved all, he wanted to be useful and set the Samaritan woman free.
In most cases, we have left our friends when troubles and difficulties striped them away or when we learn so much about them that we didn’t know mainly because we never expected that to happen, but if we were aware, then, we would be equipped and prepared to stay no matter the atmosphere. Therefore, tell your lover who you truly are and he or she will nicely and happily love you. And if anyone ever tries to convince you that love is blind, kindly ask him or her, “What will happen if its eyes ever open up?”
