There is a war out here; it is a war of reformed theology against prosperity gospel! To simplify these issues, especially for you, take it that reformed theology is biblical school of thought that encourages expository kind of preaching. On the other hand, as it is generally perceived, prosperity gospel is the motivational preaching!
In general, prosperity gospel and its preachers are doomed! And reformed theology and its followers are the REAL thing! But things aren’t as easy and plain as they seem to be; we need to look at context, not only when dealing with reformed theology, but also with prosperity gospel. For every preaching, every lesson, every sermon, we need to ask the tough question, is it biblical?
What is prosperity? And what does this preacher mean when he commands it? Does the Bible talk about prosperity? In what context does it do so? We need to be patient and careful as we examine these issues.
In this small book, I take the general definition of prosperity gospel and examine it through the eyes of a reformed theologian or at least one who measures everything against the BIBLE! Does God promise prosperity and success in other areas of life other than spiritual? If No, why? If yes, where? And in what context does He promise that?
