God loves us unconditionally. But in no way does this mean we don’t give back! The whole Bible is full of commands, requests from God to us. True, real, and practical expectations. And yet, whether met or not, God’s love flourishes. It is as if He commands us to do this and that and yet He would still go ahead with His plan even if we did not obey! In other words, when we don’t do our part, we lose. But for Him He doesn’t! That is unconditional; to include us in a story He would otherwise not include us and still flourish!
I have confused you, haven’t I? In this book, I am answering the easy question; If God’s love is unconditional, why does He command us to do this and that lest we risk perishing? And, whether we heed His command or not, how come His plan succeeds? What does it mean when we claim, God’s love is unconditional?
In my argument, I will show you that God’s love is unconditional simply because we aren’t the center of it. He Himself is the center of it. Therefore, He would still flourish and His love shine out even without our participation. That He chose us to be participants, that we be the sources of His laid-out expectations is an act of grace, unconditional grace!
